If you are planning to do some baking on the weekend, try this delicious recipe for Banana cookies with Quick and Traditional Barley + Oats! Spoil your loved once with this yummy treat!

For 30 medium sized cookies.


  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 medium sized apple grated
  • 1 cup Quick Barley + Oats
  • 1 cup Traditional Barley + Oats
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup cranberries
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup low GI sugar (available from supermarket)
  • 1/2 cup wholemeal flower
  • 1/4 cup skinny milk (optional)


1. Mash the 3 bananas and grate the apple

2. Mix the banana, apple, oats, raisins, cranberries, baking powder, sugar and wholemeal flower together in a large bowl

3.  Optional: add  a 1/4 cup of skinny milk as a binder, pending on the dryness of the bananas

4. Spray a large baking tray with oil and put small portions of the mixture on the tray

5. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until done
